Air-cooled EM eddy current brake has following features:



A、A simplified cooling system, no need to equip huge water tanks, water pumps and water pipelines, and no worry about the freezing problem in cold winters.



B、No water scaling, no air gap increase resulted from rust erosion, ensure the reliable work of braking torque.



C 、 For the water-cooled brake, it’s liable to cause accidents due to misoperation like forgetting turning on water pump which will damage coils by heat. While air cooled brake doesn’t have this hidden trouble.



D、The failure of the sealing of water-cooled brake will bum the coils and damage the coils and damage the bearings, while wind-cooled brake doesn’t have this problem.



E、When tripping-in completed and drilling commenced, the water-cooled brake will stop running,correspondingly water cooling stops, which is not good for brake cooling. While the air-cooled brake can be cooled continually by forced wind till completely cooled, not affected by the stop of running.
